The New and Improved Sunscreen

KT sunscreen has been working for over the past six months improving our sunscreen formula to best protect everyone’s skins. We have found a new article that was just released about how we all have toxic sunscreens on the market. Our Skin is the largest organ we have and its job to protect it the best way we can. Our body does need sun to help with our bodies natural way of getting vitamin D. More and more the FDA is stopping of the production of these brands making our sunscreens unsafe.

The FDA announced, “that closely mirrored its 2019 proposed rule, in which it deemed only two of 16 UV filters used in sunscreens (the minerals zinc oxide and titanium dioxide), as generally recognized as safe and effective (GRASE). Two of the organic chemical compounds — aminobenzoic acid (PABA) and trolamine salicylate — are proposed as not safe and effective for sunscreen use. The other 12 remain under review and are sold under the definition of “Marketed Unapproved Drugs.”

“Sunscreen came under scrutiny again in May of this year when independent lab Valisure found the known carcinogen benzene in 78 sunscreen and after-sun care products. Some experts, including Martyn Smith, a professor of toxicology at the University of California at Berkeley, believed the findings were more likely a result of contamination during manufacturing than ingredients in the sunscreen and that the amounts detected were too small to cause harm.” How did we let this happen? We as people purchasing products we are putting trust into a brand that we believe has our best interest to help us stay safe when we are outside. Our Brand is driven to have the best formula for the public. As a Nurse, I have watched many people die and my mom suffered from Skin Cancer. It’s important to me that we a brand that people can trust. My mother has a large scar on her face from her surgery, she was not expecting that this mole on her lip was Basal Cell. As a Nurse I care about saving as many lives as I can, Its important to me that my family and friends are safe.
